Well, she’s done it again… Gen stumbled upon another great comedian because of her love of these talent show competitions once again. She showed me a few of his performances on YouTube and I was immediately amazed by this young man’s talent. Three years ago, this 14-year-old amazingly hilarious comedian auditioned on Britain’s Got Talent… such a charming guy. Jack Carroll made it all the way to be the first runner up on the show, impressing people all over, even Simon Cowell, which is definitely saying a lot. For anyone who isn’t familiar with the show, Simon Cowell is not one who is easy to please. The jokes Carroll made had me laughing so hard that it hurt, almost non-stop throughout his entire show. The fact that he was already so incredibly talented at such a young age is so cool!
Only 14 years old! I remember when I was 14, just started high school, trying so hard to fit in with the other teenagers who seemed to be oh so intimidating… nowhere near showcasing my talents in front of the whole world. What I think I love most about him, other than his jokes of course, is that he doesn’t take himself so seriously… very down to earth despite his success. He is able to crack jokes about himself and everything he goes through, which in turn makes the audience feel relaxed and connected to him. After just a few minutes, you forget all about the walker and all you see is a very talented, funny comedian, which makes you feel completely at ease. This is something I think about sometimes with my own life, like when I wobble or stumble, or someone knows about my FD, I always want people to remember that I’m still just me.
