Zootopia: A Winner Movie

zootopia

Disney really made such a masterpiece with this movie! Is it just me or are animated movies much better than they used to be? Along with movies like Inside Out, Frozen and Finding Dory, Zootopia is an amazing story that is also meant to be educational for its viewers. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman did a wonderful job portraying the two main characters… well, their voices do a wonderful job, that is. Zootopia is a world where all animals are treated equally, no matter what species they are or what they look like. Any and all animals can go for whatever dreams they may have… job or otherwise.

Cute bunny Judy Hopps (Goodwin) is determined to start a life for herself as the first ever rabbit cop in this famous city. She has got to be the most determined and ambitious little bunny rabbit out there… because there’s clearly so much competition. Meeting Nick Wilde (Bateman) along the way, Judy goes along her journey of proving herself and solving crimes. What starts off as a shaky relationship, turns into a great crime-fighting team. They are the perfect example of the unlikely duo overcoming their own hardships and saving the day in the end.

This movie does a really good job at showing its audience how important it is to treat everyone the same, a movie against bullying and stereotypes. Zootopia fights hard against all the common stereotypes regarding each species, for example the common stereotype involving sloths and their speed. Most likely because of all of this, Zootopia wound up winning Best Animated Feature Film at the 2017 Oscars. Directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore and producer Clark Spencer gave a great speech about this very issue. After all of this rambling, the bottom line is that this movie was amazing and I definitely highly recommend giving it a try. It is now available to watch on Netflix
