I’m just as shocked as you are… or, for all I know, this is already old news. Either way, when I first heard that this was happening, I couldn’t believe it. But, it is in fact, true… Michael Scofield is alive… alive and well may be pushing it, but one out of two’s not bad! Based on this trailer, it looks like he is alive and spending his days in a prison cell… again. The crime(s) he committed is/are not mentioned, but when his faithful brother Lincoln Burrows finds out, he knows what needs to happen… a prison break! We get to see a lot of our old friends again… Sara, Lincoln, T-Bag, C-Note, Kellerman… the gang is back. I really can’t wait to see what happens when this show premieres!
The latest news says that we will have to wait until the spring of 2017, but I guess that’s better than nothing. Also, apparently there will only be 9 episodes in this mini-series… 9 episodes to tie up all their loose ends I guess? You won’t hear me complaining! I remember sitting and binge watching this whole series in a super short amount of time… yes, it was only last year… but, what can I say? I’m often a ‘late bloomer’ with all these hit TV shows. Thank goodness Gen recommended we watch this show, because otherwise I would definitely be missing out on a great experience.
For those of you who haven’t seen the show, I really do suggest giving it a try. Basically, it revolves around a genius engineer named Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) who’s brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is framed for murdering a politician’s brother. Michael concocts a super elaborate plan to get his brother out of jail… he is willing to do whatever it takes, even if that means putting himself in prison as well. During the four seasons, we get to know his story really well, and gradually understand more and more about him and his brother. Many of the other main characters are his cellmates, which also provides some interesting story-lines. Watching this show really gives you a new outlook on prison life and convicts. Getting to be familiar with all the prisoners, we learn how crimes are never only black or white. But, a word of warning: watch at your own risk, this show is super addictive, and it being available on Netflix doesn’t help 🙂
A few things I wanna add:
- I am a huge fan of the love story in this show! I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say that it really adds to the show… very romantic story-line.
- Excited to see Paul Kellerman again… the character is portrayed by Paul Adelstein, who was a main character in Private Practice, one of my all time favorite shows. Can’t wait to see him!
- Having a show that focuses mostly on Wentworth Miller is so amazing… I see him as a great role model in the gay community, plus of course he is a wonderful actor.
