A Funny Memory

I came across a blog writing-prompt today (wow, there are some really great ideas out there!) suggesting that I write a post about something funny that’s happened to me at a job. Yes, I may not be working at the moment, but I did have quite the eventful job for about three and a half years, so here goes! I thought I’d share one particular funny story with all of you. There definitely are a lot of funny stories from my time at JFS, but I will be sharing one that really sticks out for me. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it! I know I will, it’s always fun taking a walk down memory lane:

So, I was pretty new on the job, had only been there a few months AKA was still a newbie. Sitting at my desk, I remember waiting for the day to end, it was a Friday. Suddenly the phone rang and I picked it up. I do remember that the caller ID showed something weird, something that I wasn’t familiar with. After doing my “Jewish Family Services!” spiel answering the phone, there was a short silence on the other end, then a hang up. This happened I think twice in a row, so obviously, I was a little confused as to what the heck was going on. When the phone rang for the third time, there was the same silence but then I heard breathing (yikes!), I will never forget the next four words I heard after that… “What are you wearing??” Not only were the words creepy, but it was also said in a horror movie-like tone. Crazy, right?! Thankfully, I knew exactly who the culprit was, one of my dear coworkers playing a lovely little joke on me. Oh, how I miss her…  and, surprisingly, I don’t mean this sarcastically. I was lucky enough to see her a couple months ago, was great catching up! 🙂

Anyone else want to share any funny work stories?
