Me and My Tooth Fairy

So, I found another great site filled with blog writing prompts! These sites get me so excited, it opens a door to so many fun opportunities… please excuse my nerdy side coming out here hehe. As I went through this huge list, I stumbled on one of the prompts that really spoke to me:

“I found out there was no Santa (or Tooth Fairy)…”

I am aware this may sound childish and boring, but I am rather attached to my tooth fairy story from when I was a kid (sadly never was a huge Santa believer). I must have been around… 6 or 7 I’m guessing. I had been loosing teeth for many years already, so I was quite the pro when it came to dealing with the famous tooth fairy. But! My tooth fairy was a little bit different from the norm, I think… mine didn’t just give me money under my pillow, mine took specific requests from me… through my dad. Are you sensing the spoiler here? Well, how it worked was, I would call my dad up at work during the day to share the news of my lost tooth and he in turn would ask me what I wanted from the tooth fairy this time. Low and behold, he would come home from work that evening with the requested toy! After a little while, I became suspicious and started asking my dad to explain how this all worked, but he was adamant, he apparently had some magic way of communicating my desires to the tooth fairy and then delivering them to me. After bugging the poor guy about this for a while, I decided it was time to get to the bottom of it… I requested that he pick up the phone and call his tooth fairy friend, while standing right beside me. After this so-called phone call was made and I still wasn’t buying it, he caved and told me what he had been doing all this time. What a commitment! Even though I found out the truth, I still really appreciated it all, and I knew he did it to make his little girl happy. To this day, I know he’d do anything to see me smile 🙂
